The visit of the mission of the International Monetary Fund (IMF) to
Estonia on December 9-15 is aimed at concluding the regular Article IV consultations between the
IMF and Estonia, which started in May this year. In the course of the visit the IMF delegation has
meetings with representatives from both the public and the private sector.
During the nearly week-long visit,
the IMF mission has meetings with government members, representatives of Eesti Pank and the Financial Supervision Authority, managers of commercial
banks and private companies, as well as economic analysts. The IMF staff will be provided an overview of the current situation and outlook of the
Estonian economy, fiscal policy and financial sector.
The conclusions of the visit will be presented by Head of the
IMF mission Mr Franciszek Rozwadowski at Eesti Pank's and IMF's joint press conference on Monday, 15 December at Eesti Pank.
The International Monetary Fund discusses relevant economic policy issues with its member countries every year. In the course of the
Article IV consultations the IMF prepares a report on Estonia containing economic policy assessments first discussed by the IMF Board and then published.
