Translation
AMENDMENT ACT OF BANK OF ESTONIA ACT, STATE AUDIT OFFICE ACT AND COURTS ACT
[Excerpt]
§ 1. The following amendments are made in the Bank of Estonia Act (RT 1993, 28, 498; 30, correction notice; 1994, 30, 463; 1998, 64/65, 1006; 1999, 16, 271; 2001, 58, 353; 59, 358; 2002, 57, 356):
1) Subsection 11 is added to section 7 in the following wording:
"(11) The Chairman of the Board of Eesti Pank shall give notice of his resignation to the President of the Republic of Estonia at least four months in advance.";
2) Subsection 11 is added to section 10 in the following wording:
"(11) The Governor of Eesti Pank shall give notice of his resignation to the Board of Eesti Pank at least four months in advance.";
3) Subsection 6 is added to section 112 in the following wording:
"(6) If the authorities of the Chairman of the Board of Eesti Pank or the Governor of Eesti Pank have ended prematurely, security checks have to be performed with respect of the candidate for the post of the Chairman of the Board of Eesti Pank or Governor of Eesti Pank in the course of one month following the receipt of the documents listed in subsection 4 of this section. By the permit of the Committee for the Protection of State Secrets the deadline of security checks can be extended by one month if the circumstances stated in clause 1 or 2 of Section 30
(21) of the State Secrets Act (RT I 1999, 16, 271; 82, 752; 2001, 7, 17; 93, 565; 100, 643; 2002, 53, 336; 57, 354; 63, 387) occur or it is possible that in the course of one month a circumstance stated in clause 3 or 4 may occur."

§ 4. This act enters into force on 15 March 2003.
